GARETH BALE has been slated in the Spanish media for his wild flag celebrations with Wales that poked fun of his status at Real Madrid.
Bale has found himself left out in the cold by Zinedine Zidane and accused of wanting to play golf more than football over the past six months.
Marca have slammed Gareth Bale for his flag celebrations with Wales
And the forward poked fun of his experiences in Madrid when he partied with his Welsh team-mates after their Euro 2020 qualification holding a flag which read: “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order.”
His public show of apparent dissent has gone down badly in Spain, where newspapers have not held back in their criticism.
The influential Marca’s front page simply reads: “Disrespectful. Wrong. Ungrateful. In that order.”
And rival title AS has drawn up a front page with shows Bale stood over a golf putt with the headline: “Bale in a hole.”
AS say Bale has got himself into a hole with his antics while on international duty
The reports say the 30-year-old has shown a lack of class with his celebrations, relegating playing for Real to the least important in his mind.
And former Real president Ramon Calderon has accused the former Spurs star of being “childish” with his actions.
The latest controversy comes after Sun Sport exclusively revealed the winger could be heading to Manchester United in January.
It appears, though, that Real boss Zidane has seen the funny side of what happened after the Wales victory over Hungary.
The understanding is that the Frenchman is not even planning to have a conversation with his star about what happened after the match.
There has been something of a cooling in tensions between manager and player since pre-season, when Zidane had apparently decided Bale played no part in his plans.
Since then the former Tottenham star has worked his way back into the side, when fit, and he is expected to link straight back up with the first team squad ahead of this week’s clash with Real Sociedad.
