NIGEL PEARSON has held talks with Watford to become their next manager.
The Premier League’s rock-bottom club are interviewing numerous candidates for the role after sacking Quique Sanchez Flores last Sunday.

Pearson, 56, has been out of work after being axed by Belgian club Leuven in February.
He has Premier League pedigree and experience in a relegation dogfight following his time at Leicester.
Pearson earned promotion to the Prem in 2014 but they looked destined for relegation in their first season in the top flight with the Foxes bottom at Christmas.
After going eight games without a win, Pearson somehow managed to inspire his side to seven wins in their final nine matches to pull off the great escape.
He was then sacked following after falling out with the board and Leicester famously went on to lift the title in the following campaign.
Pearson has also had spells at Southampton, Hull and Derby and he could be handed the chance to revive his career in England, according to the Times.
Watford have also held talks with former Brighton boss Chris Hughton.
SunSport revealed how the Englishman is highly regarded by the decision makers at Vicarage Road.
Hughton, 60, has been out of work since he was dismissed by Brighton towards the end of last season after narrowly avoiding relegation.
Sam Allardyce is also in the frame as Watford are braced to appoint their third manager of the season.
