CRISTIANO RONALDO picked up yet another individual award for his bustling trophy cabinet, as he scooped the “Best Player” gong at the annual Dubai Globe Soccer Awards.
The award was launched in 2010, with the Portuguese legend being named best player on six occasions.

The 34-year-old attended the awards night in Dubai with girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and eldest son Cristiano Jr, 10.
And picking up the award, the Juventus star had a series of people that he wanted to thank.
He said: “I have to thank my family, my girlfriend, my boy there, Cristiano, my three kids who are waiting for me in the hotel, my friends, my team-mates of Juventus and the national team, my agent, all the people here tonight who support this gala.
“I have to say thank you to the Arabic community, which is always great with me.
“I have to thank Dubai as well – it’s a marvellous place to be, I’m coming every year and I love this place.
“And finally to thank [everyone] who voted for me.
“It’s a great honour to be here and receive this amazing award. I hope to be here next year to receive this award, of course. Thanks to everyone, and a Happy New Year.”
Ronaldo came third in this year’s Ballon d’Or, beaten to the prestigious gong by Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and great rival Lionel Messi.
So it will have been a sweet feeling for Ronaldo to have scooped this award.

After the ceremony, he posted a picture to his 195million Instagram followers of himself on a private jet with Rodriguez and his four children… as well as the prestigious trophy.
Above the photo, he wrote: “Honored to received one more time @globesoccer Award! A very emotional moment for me to share this award with my family.
“Grateful for all the hospitality, see you soon Dubai!”
Ronaldo has scored 12 goals in 21 appearances so far this season, as his Juve side face a fierce battle with Inter Milan to retain their Serie A crown.

And Ronaldo is also the top scorer in Uefa competitions in 2019, having bagged 21 goals this year for club and country in the Champions League, Euro 2020 qualifiers and Nations League, narrowly pipping Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
Also honoured at the awards night in Dubai was Atletico Madrid wonderkid Joao Felix, who won the “Best Revelation Player” award.
England’s Lucy Bronze won the “Best Women’s Player” award.
