MASON MOUNT has made a young fan’s day after he missed out on the chance to catch the eye of the England star because he was sat up in the gods at Wembley.
The little boy had made a special sign for his favourite player trying to grab his attention and ask for his shirt after England’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro.
Mason Mount has made a young fan’s day by agreeing to give him a signed shirt after he was sat too far away for his sign to be noticed at Wembley
He had already bumped into the Chelsea star earlier in the day as the Three Lions squad relaxed at their hotel in the hours before kick-off.
But when he made his way to his seat in the stadium, he was left disappointed to see he was right at the bac of the stand, a huge distance from the pitch.
It meant there was no chance that Mount – or any of the England players and their officials – would see his special banner.
So his mum Keeley Brookes decided to launch one final attempt to come up trumps for her little one.
The Chelsea fan took a picture of him holding the banner high above his head and posted a message on Titter in the hope the player would notice.
And today the 20-year-old spotted the plea and sent a message saying he would indeed be happy to provide the shirt the boy wanted.
Mount wrote: “Hey Keeley, I would love to send your son a signed shirt!
“Please message me and I’ll get that sorted… and thanks for the support!”
It was a classy touch from one of English football’s brightest young talents who has taken the Premier League by storm this season at Chelsea.
After impressing on loan spells with Vitesse Arnheim and Derby, Mount has been given the backing of Frank Lampard and responded by a series of fine performances to help the Blues up to third in the table.
He has also figured in all five Euro 2020 qualifiers for England this season and now looks in a good position to be part of the squad for the finals next summer.
