CHELSEA are trying to find out what Timo Werner’s release clause is in his Red Bull Leipzig contract, according to reports.
And Frank Lampard’s search for another striker could see him trigger a move for Werner in January, say the Telegraph.

Leipzig are top of Bundesliga and Werner is one behind 19-goal Bayern Munich hero Robert Lewandowski at the top of the scoring charts.
The club are desperate to hold on to their main man, but there is said to be confusion over his release clause.
It has been quoted as low as £25.6million and as high as £51.2m.
Chelsea want to know exactly how much they will have to pay for the 23-year-old German.
Talks with Tammy Abraham over a new £180,000-a-week deal have stalled in recent weeks.
Lampard has shown an interest in Dortmund and England star Jadon Sancho too – who wants to return to London.
But he will likely have to battle Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the former Manchester City man after Manchester United lost out on Erling Haaland to Dortmund.
Chelsea are looking at Lyon striker Moussa Dembele who is rated at around £71m.
Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha, Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey and Villarreal star Samuel Chukwueze are also in Chelsea’s sights.
But it looks like they are trying hardest for Werner.
Blues scouts have watched Leipzig a number of times this season – especially since Ethan Ampadu is on loan there.
Chelsea can offer Olivier Giroud or Michy Batshuayi as part of a deal for any forward.
The Stamford Bridge club are also looking to re-sign defender Nathan Ake, who they can buy for £40m as part of the deal that took him to Bournemouth.
SunSport told you Chelsea are also monitoring 17-year-old Carlisle United defender Jarrad Branthwaite.
