BRENDAN RODGERS’ Leicester side are flying high in the Premier League which has seen him continually linked with the vacant Arsenal job.
The Northern Irishman has repeatedly played down the links but has stopped short of categorically ruling himself out.
Arsenal trump Leicester on several fronts which could give Brendan Rodgers a dilemma
And although the two sides’ League form is worlds apart right now, a look at other factors could be giving the 46-year-old a bigger dilemma than he is letting on.
Leicester currently sit second in the Premier League while the Gunners are floundering in eighth – manager-less having sacked Unai Emery on Friday.
Former Arsenal midfielder Freddie Ljungberg has taken temporary charge and drew 2-2 at Norwich in his first game in charge on Sunday.
But the North Londoners are on the hunt for a permanent boss and Rodgers is high on their 12-man wanted list.
However, when asked about the speculation ahead of Leicester’s game with Watford on Wednesday, Rodgers claimed it would not be “logical” to move NOW.
He said: “The message is clear.
“I’ll probably get asked again until they appoint someone, but it’s very simple – I’m very happy here.
“I made a choice nine months ago to come here for a purpose.

“That was very clear in that I wanted to help this club move forward out of where it was when I came in, and looking to lead it forward with a group I feel has huge potential. Why would I want to move from that?
“And I think logic would tell you – and I know that sometimes in your world it’s not always logical this gossip and speculation – but why would I want to leave Leicester City at this moment in time?”
Despite Rodgers’ cool demeanour, stats suggest the gulf between the two clubs elsewhere might be giving Rodgers more to think about.
Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium is almost twice as big as Leicester’s King Power – 60,000 to 32,000.
Gunners’ owner Stan Kroenke is also worth more than Leicester’s Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha – £6.8billion to £4.6bn.
Arsenal also boast a far superior fanbase, with a staggering 53m social media followers across Facebook and Twitter, which massively dwarfs the Foxes’ 8.1m.
And while Arsenal might not be performing as well right now, on paper the squad values are equally skewed with the Gunners’ players worth a combined £621m compared to Leicester’s £369m.
Then there is the North Londoners’ history.
There is no arguing that Arsenal are in a different stratosphere in terms of success.
While Leicester won the title more recently – during the shock 2015/16 season – that is their only top-flight triumph.
In comparison, Arsenal have won the title an impressive 13 times – behind only Manchester United and Liverpool.
They’ve won the FA Cup the same number of times – more than any other club.
