Arsenal star Aubameyang wanted by Inter Milan in January transfer to link up with Lukaku as contract talks stall

INTER MILAN are ready to launch a January swoop for unsettled Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.

The Gabon star has currently put contract talks on hold at the Emirates leaving his future at the club unclear.

Aubameyang, 30, has a contract until the summer of 2021 but it is believed he has grown disillusioned with life at the North London club following the club’s worrying dip in form.

Arsenal, who scored twice in the 2-2 draw at Norwich on Sunday, have failed to win in their last seven matches and sit seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

With the likely prospect of another season without Champions League football, Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb write how Serie A table-toppers Inter are ready to make a swoop.

Antonio Conte’s side are flying with 12 wins from their opening 14 games and want another striker in a bid to end Juventus’ dominance at the top.

The Old Lady have won the last eight league titles while Inter’s last reign at the top came in 2010.

Conte already has a wealth of attacking options with £73million striker Romelu Lukaku forging a prolific partnership alongside Lautauro Martinez.

The pair already have 18 league goals between them and Aubameyang would add greater competition in attack.

Inter are braced to face fierce competition across Europe including from Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Aubameyang will have just a year left on his contract at the end of the season and it will be the last chance for Arsenal to cash in or risk losing him for nothing.

Arsenal have a history of letting the contracts of their top players run down with Aaron Ramsey leaving on a free for Juventus at the end of last season, while Alexis Sanchez left in January of 2018 for Manchester United.
