MAURICIO POCHETTINO and Mikel Arteta are the bookies’ favourites to take over from under-pressure Unai Emery at Arsenal in the coming weeks.
The Spanish chief is facing the axe at the Gunners after yet another horror afternoon – this time in the 2-2 draw at home to Southampton.
Pochettino and Arteta are amongst the favourites to replace Emery at Arsenal
Emery is just a 5/1 shot to have managed his last game for Arsenal after Alexandre Lacazette spared his blushes with a last-gasp equaliser.
Amongst the favourites to replace him are ex-Tottenham boss Pochettino and former Arsenal captain Arteta, who is currently Pep Guardiola’s No2 at Manchester City.
Arteta is the front-runner as things stand, priced at 4/1 with Ladbrokes.
Meanwhile, Pochettino – only sacked by Arsenal’s North London rivals earlier this week – second-fave at 11/2.
Massimiliano Allegri, out of work since leaving Juventus in the summer, is 6/1.
Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira and current Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo are both 10/1 shots to take over.
Youth coach – and another ex-Gunners star – Freddie Ljungberg is 12/1, ahead of former Newcastle and Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez (14/1).
Brendan Rodgers, doing a terrific job at Leicester this season, is a 16/1 shot, along with recently-sacked former Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac and Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe.
Arsenal fans at this stage would take almost anyone, with supporters taking to Twitter to vent their frustration and others boycotting the Saints game entirely.
One fuming fan tweeted: “Dear @Arsenal, how many retweets to get #EmeryOut by Monday morning?”
Another added: “I’ve seen Arsenal sign Bendtner, Andre Santos, Gervinho, Chamakh, Senderos, Sanogo, Gazidis as chief executive and still the the worst recruitment ever by Arsenal is Unai Emery. #EmeryOut.”
Boos ran out around the Emirates after the final whistle and Emery is now second-favourite to be the next manager to lose his job – after West Ham’s Manuel Pellegrini.
