Alli and Son sensational while Aurier puts in a performance that can make right-back spot his own

JOSE MOURINHO got off to the perfect start as Tottenham ended their away day hoodoo to cruise past their London rivals.

Son Heung-min opened the scoring before assisting Lucas Moura to double their advantage before half time.

Harry Kane then put the game beyond doubt with a superb header from a Serge Aurier cross.

The likes of Eric Dier and Moura have been offered a clean slate under the new gaffer and SunSport’s Richard Forrester casts his players ratings after Spurs’ 3-2 win.

GAZZANIGA 7

Could have pulled up a deckchair and smoked a cigar if he really wanted until the 70th minute when West Ham started to put on some pressure.

Couldn’t do anything about Antonio or Ogbonna’s goal as West Ham made a late surge.

AURIER 8

Question marks over his positioning on occasions but one of his best games in a Tottenham shirt.

He looked solid in the first half with a number of strong challenges and played in a super delivery for Kane to head in the third.

That right-back spot has been an issue for Spurs but Aurier has the potential to make it his own now.

ALDERWEIRELD 6

A player Mourinho was desperate to sign at Manchester United so is bound to be a big player under the Portuguese boss.

Was assured at the back but was turned by Antonio before the Hammers striker fired the hosts back into the contest.

Didn’t look unfazed as West Ham put some late pressure on and wasn’t at fault for the second.

SANCHEZ 6

If he can avoid injuries then the Colombian should be a mainstay in Tottenham’s side.

He barely had anything to do until the last 20 minutes but question marks over his defending for West Ham’s second when he lost his marker Ogbonna.

DAVIES 7

Kept Rose out of the starting XI and looked untroubled by a poor West Ham side.

Didn’t need to bomb forward with the game already out of sight at half-time and barely put a foot wrong until the 70th minute when he was booked for bringing down Antonio.

Came off with an injury although didn’t appear too serious.

DIER 7

Another player handed a fresh opportunity after making just his third league start of the season.

Lost possession once or twice but grew into the contest and ended up nullifying West Ham’s midfield alongside Winks.

Mourinho will be more than encouraged by his performance as he kept it simple in the middle of the park.

WINKS 8

It’s all to play for in midfield as competition hots up but Winks made a statement that he’s not willing to roll over.

He didn’t produce much as an attacking threat but he didn’t need to with the four forwards causing all the trouble.

Instead Winks kept his discipline and sprayed the ball about to maintain possession.

LUCAS 7

Handed a big opportunity to impress his new boss and grasped it with both hands.

Started slowly which is understandble given his lack of football but grew in confidence and grabbed his second league goal of the campaign when he latched onto Son’s cross.

Missed an absolute sitter in the second but should have cemented his starting role in Spurs’ next outing.

ALLI 9

A brilliant first half performance as West Ham struggled to pick him up as he drifted into space and caused havoc.

Assisted Son for the opener and played a massive part in Spurs’ second by releasing the South Korean down the left.

A lot of talk has been made about how Mourinho’s biggest task is to get the best out of the England international who appeared to lose his way under Mauricio Pochettino.

The early signs suggest he’s definitely on the right path. Was subbed for Eriksen on 78 minutes.

SON 9

Terrific again after opening the scoring with a smart finish past the hopeless Roberto.

Then produced a sensational cross for Lucas to double Spurs’ advantage.

Was quieter in the second half but was full of running until the final whistle to stretch West Ham’s defence.

KANE 8

Showed some nice touches in the first half and linked up well with Alli before eventually making his mark in the second half.

His header from Aurier’s cross was excellent and put the game to put to become Spurs’ third highest all-time scorer with 175.

Lost his cool a little when he received a booking for a strong challenge on Snodgrass but Mourinho would have loved his defensive contribution.

SUBS

Rose (75) – 6

Left-back replaced injured Davies but barely had time to make an impact.

Eriksen (78) – 5

Given 12 minutes at the end and struggled to make an impact as West Ham attempted to push forward to get a foothold in the game. Will be interesting to see if he can force his way into Mourinho’s side.

Sissoko (82) – 6

Run around a lot and tried to throw himself about. Has fierce competition in midfield.
