Abraham’s team-mate Cesar Azpilicueta alerted the referee that Antonio Rudiger had been allegedly subjected to monkey chants by home supporters.
The worrying scenes were the latest in an ever-increasing amount of racist incidents to hit our game.
And Abraham, who himself has been the the victim of the disgusting abuse this season, admits he is at a loss on what else can be done to stop stamp it out.
The striker said: “To be honest I don’t know.
“Everyone is doing as much as they can to put a stop to it but there’s always going to be one or two people who remain the same.
“For us, it’s all about staying together. As you can see, the Spurs players came to comfort Rudi.
“We’ve just got to stick together and let the football do the talking.”
Despite not being on the far side of the pitch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Abraham says everyone on the pitch was quickly aware of what had gone on.
And he hailed the bravery and professionalism of German international Rudiger for continuing to produce a fine display when he could have lost his head.
Abraham added: “I was on the other side of the pitch when it was happening but I was aware.
“It didn’t affect his performance, he’s a strong character, and I think he showed he’s a fantastic player and he overcame it.”
