Tyson Fury’s trainer reveals plan to KO Deontay Wilder by improving Gypsy King’s accuracy and workrate ahead of rematch

TYSON FURY needs to increase his accuracy and workrate when he fights Deontay Wilder again.

That is according to his new trainer Javan ‘Sugar’ Hill, who takes over the duties of preparing the Gypsy King for the February 22 showdown from Ben Davison.

After their thrilling draw a year ago, the heavyweight pair will meet in the ring again with Wilder’s WBC world title on the line once more.

And Hill knows the areas he wants to improve his man over the next couple of months.

Speaking to World Boxing News, Hill said: “I’m excited about it. Tyson has to be busier in this fight and more accurate. That’s pretty much it. The last time it was a close fight.

“I have to wait until we get to training camp. To see if there are other things that need to be worked on.

“But I like to fine-tune my guys and make sure they’re very technically sound. We go from there.

“Right now, Tyson just has to be busier. And for one thing, be alert. He’s got to be very, very alert.”

Wilder brutally knocked out Dominic Breazeale in the first round in May and then produced a stunning blow to floor Luis Ortiz in November.

Those results extended his professional record to 42 wins from 43 fights and 41 knockouts.

So Hill is well aware of the threat the Bronze Bomber poses, adding: “Deontay Wilder is a very dangerous guy.

“He’s very dangerous. We saw that first-hand in the first fight with Tyson Fury and the other 40 or something opponents that Deontay Wilder has faced.

“He’s one of the most dangerous men in boxing history.”

Fury, meanwhile, has won 20 of his 29 fights by knockout, going the full distance against the likes of Wilder, Wladimir Klitschko and most recently against Otto Wallin.

But asked if he thinks Fury has the ability to knock Wilder out in the rematch, Hill replied: “I do yes. It’s the heavyweight division.

“Anyone can be knocked out in the heavyweight division – that’s why it’s one of the most exciting divisions.”
