TOMMY FURY defended calling out KSI and insists he is evenly matched with the YouTuber.
Love Island star Fury, 20, targeted internet sensation KSI – real name Olajide William Olatunji, or “JJ”.
Love Island star Tommy Fury called out YouTuber KSI
It comes after the YouTube phenomenon, 26, beat social media rival Logan Paul on their professional boxing debuts, having drawn in an exhibition bout last year.
And 2-0 Fury, who put his novice career on hold to enter the popular ITV villa this summer, told talkSPORT his lack of bouts makes a fight against KSI an even affair.
He said: “I respect KSI for getting in the ring. He did say he wants to fight [again] after the fight [against Logan Paul].
“I am a young man myself and everyone saying, ‘Oh, a professional boxer calling out a YouTuber’.
“But isn’t he signed with Eddie Hearn? Didn’t he just fight on DAZN?
“Has he got a professional licence? Yes. Did he fight without a headguard? Yes. Did he fight the same as a professional? Yes.
“Have I had a million fights? No. Have I got any titles? No. Have I had a lot of fights? No. It is quite an even playing field so why not get it on?”
KSI had his first white collar bout against Brit rival Joe Weller in February 2018, winning by third round stoppage before drawing against Paul six months later.
But he recorded a split decision victory against American Paul in Los Angeles last Saturday, after his YouTube nemesis had TWO points deducted, costing him the result.
Brother of ex-heavyweight champion Tyson, reality TV star Fury only had 12 bouts in the non-paid ranks winning a junior title, but did not embark on a senior amateur career.
The Brit beat Jevgenijs Andrejev on his pro debut before a stoppage win against Callum Ide in March, and now returns to the ring on December 21 with Daniel Dubois fighting in the main-event.
