BRIGID KOSGEI has broken Paula Radcliffe’s 16-year long women’s marathon world record.
The Kenyan completed the Chicago Marathon in 2:14:04, 1:22 quicker than Radcliffe’s effort of 2:15:25 at the 2003 London Marathon.

Kosgei won the English capital’s premium race earlier this year, becoming its youngest victor.
And she has now created more history by storming to success in Chicago.
She finished a whole 6:47 ahead of Ethiopia’s Ababel Yeshaneh.
Radcliffe was at the finishing line in Chicago to congratulate Kosgei.
But she will now have to update her Twitter profile, which reads: “Fastest Women’s Marathoner in history.”
Kosgei’s time was still not quick enough to beat Eliud Kipchoge though.
He ran the Vienna Marathon in under two hours, becoming the first-ever person to do so.
Kipchoge smashed his target by 20 seconds and used an incredible 41 pace setters.
Paula Radcliffe will have to update her Twitter profile now
