England given just 2,500 tickets for World Cup 2022 opener against Iran as allocation and prices are revealed

ENGLAND will have less than 2,500 “official” fans at their opening World Cup match after Fifa confirmed their ticket allocation to the FA.But lucky supporters could follow Gareth Southgate’s men through all seven matches to the final – if they get there – for £1,221.

Members of the England Supporters Travel Club had until yesterday to apply for the official Three Lions allocation.
Fifa set aside 8 per cent of the “available seating capacity” for each team.
It means that the FA were given just 2,489 seats for the opening game against Iran at the Khalifa International Stadium on November 21.
Of those, 1,785 were in the lowest-priced “Category 3” seats, priced at £53 each, with 595 of the £126 “Category 2” tickets and just 100 of the highest priced seats, available at £168 each.

The same prices will stand for the other two group games, with the FA given 4,158 seats for the match against USA in the 60,000-capacity Al Bayt Stadium on November 25 and back down to 2,339 for the third group game, against Scotland, Wales or Ukraine, at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium on November 29.
While the allocation could rise – and will do if England win group B to play potentially three knock-out games at Al Bayt – the initial allocation for the last 16 is 3,009 tickets, with 2,175 of them priced at £81 and 100 of the top priced seats at £358 each.
The FA have been promised a minimum 3,509 seats – starting at £173 for the 2,550 category 3 tickets – for a potential quarter final.

World Cup playoff dates revealed for Scotland vs Ukraine and Wales’ clash against winner to seal spot in England’s group

Fifa launch free streaming platform Fifa+ and reveal plans to show more than 40,000 live matches this year

FIFA have announced the launch of its very own FREE streaming service.The new digital platform, titled Fifa+, will be broadcast around the world and will host a variety of content from live matches to documentaries.

To start the service will be available in five languages – English, French, Spanish, German and Portuguese – with six more languages to be added in June.
Fifa estimate 40,000 matches will be shown live on the platform with the potential to stream World Cup matches on Fifa+ too.
That includes 11,000 women’s matches with 1,400 to be streamed in the first month after launch.
As well as live events, viewers will also be able to access a range of documentaries at no cost thanks to Fifa’s extensive archive.

Pep Guardiola ‘offered Brazil manager job but will need to slash massive Man City wages almost in HALF’

MANCHESTER CITY boss Pep Guardiola is one of the main candidates to replace Brazil boss Tite after the World Cup, according to reports.Tite is expected to oversee Brazil’s adventure at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, where they are one of the favourites, and then part ways.

And according to Marca, Man City boss Guardiola is one of the main candidates to replace Tite.
Guardiola’s contract at the Premier League champions expires in the summer of 2023.

That’s considerably less than the £16m he currently picks up at City.

And with up to 5,000 extra tickets being made available for England fans via the FA , Qatar 2022 chief Nasser Al Khater insisted supporters travelling to the Middle East could avoid being charged eye-watering prices for hotels.
Al Khater, Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar 2022 organising committee, told SunSport: “We have always been committed to offering every fan who wants to come the opportunity to enjoy an affordable World Cup.
“We’ve learned from previous tournaments. We know there have been price hikes in previous tournaments to take advantage of the fans who have bought tickets.

But this time, England have a good chance of going all the way and winning their first trophy since 1966, according to Spurs hero King.

Maguire has had a tough season with United and at times has been singled out for his performances.
He was even booed by England fans ahead of the 3-0 win over Ivory Coast, despite not putting a foot wrong for his country.
King continued: “I think Gareth backs him, he’s played well for England but he’s just in a bad mental space at the moment. I know what it’s like.
“The game just seems a lot when you know you’re not playing at your best.
“When you think too much, it just doesn’t come naturally, and now can he get out of that what?
“Whether the manager (Ragnick) who is close to him on a daily basis feels that he needs to pull him out for a few weeks to then bring him back in – the manager will know best.
“Other than that, there’s no easy fix other than hard work on the training pitch um.
“He has always struck me as someone who is mentally strong, so I’m surprised that he seems to be struggling in this way.
