      Newcastle double blow with Sven Botman ‘really close’ to AC Milan transfer – as Serie A side look to steal Fabian Schar

      NEWCASTLE were dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of Sven Botman with Lille reportedly in talks to sell the defender to AC Milan. And, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the 22-year-old Dutchman is said to be ready to accept the Italian side’s offer.

      Toon have been focused on signing Botman since initially having a bid rejected in January and missing out would be a major spanner in the works for their summer transfer plans.  
      Despite seeing their £27million offer knocked back by the French side at the start of the year, the Magpies had hoped a similar offer would be enough at the end of the season.

      AC Milan may also be looking to steal one of Newcastle’s current centre backs as well.
      Speculation around Fabian Schar’s whereabouts next season has intensified after his agent, Volker Struth, was recently spotted at the Italian club’s headquarters.  
      Schar has been a regular in Eddie Howe’s side, playing the full 90 minutes in all but one league game since late November.   
      Howe will now have to look at alternative centre-backs in the coming months, with one such option being Sevilla’s Diego Carlos.  
      The 28-year-old was also a January target but the club felt Sevilla’s £37m asking price was too much.
      The asking price for Carlos has since been lifted to a whopping £67m, according to reports.

      Kane was close to leaving Spurs last summer but a deal with Manchester City couldn’t be agreed.

      Manchester United ace Juan Mata will NOT retire or join the team’s coaching staff this summer.
      Mata’s contract expires at the end of the season leading to suggestions he could hang up his boots.
      But according to Fabrizio Romano, the winger has no interest in retirement and has ruled out becoming a coach at United.
      With a contract extension yet to be offered, the Spain international could end his eight-year stint at Old Trafford by walking out on a free transfer.
      There has been interest from Spanish and Italian clubs but that would almost certainly mean taking a huge hit on his near £170,000-a-week wages

      Paris Saint-Germain have offered Paul Pogba a contract as he looks set to quit Manchester United this summer.
      Pogba’s deal with United ends at the end of the season, and it doesn’t seem likely that he’ll sign an extension.
      The midfielder has had a turbulent spell with the Red Devils and recently expressed his frustration over winning just two trophies in five years.
