Mike Tyson, 54, is ‘scared’ of Evander Holyfield rematch having been offered the stunning trilogy fight ‘multiple times’

MIKE TYSON has been accused of being ‘scared’ to rematch Evander Holyfield having been offered a trilogy bout ‘multiple times’.
Both the ex-heavyweight champions have come out of retirement to continue their already legendary careers.

Holyfield has offered a trilogy fight ‘multiple times’

Holyfield – who twice beat Iron Mike – is training again to return for an exhibition, but is yet to have a confirmed opponent.
Tyson, 54, on the other hand is facing Roy Jones Jr, 51, in an eight-round pay-per-view spectacle next weekend.
According to TMZ’s sources, the reformed Baddest Man on The Planet snubbed Holyfield, 58, to instead fight Jones.
They said: “It’s not even about the money at this point, I think Tyson is scared.

“We’ve offered multiple times and Tyson vs. Holyfield is the fight that should happen.”
Holyfield first beat Tyson in 1996, winning in round 11 in what was considered an upset.
They rematched a year later, in the infamous the ‘Bite Fight’.
Tyson was disqualified after biting Holyfield’s ear in round three.

In the years since, they have made up and formed a friendship, and Holyfield teased a trilogy online.
He posted a picture of him punching Tyson, along with the caption: “Who would like to see Holyfield vs Tyson 3?”
Iron Mike responded to the speculation about another fight with his great rival in an interview with Jim Gray.
Tyson said: “That’s always something that we can do if the people want it, if it’s pragmatic enough, I’d love to do it.”

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight could still happen in UK thanks to coronavirus vaccine – if it’s rolled out in time

TYSON FURY vs Anthony Joshua could still happen in the UK If a Covid-19 vaccine is rolled out in time.
UK promoters Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn have always insisted the heavyweight prize fighters must take to the show to wherever they can earn the most, with the Middle East, China and Las Vegas all interested.

But the Gypsy King’s American matchmaker Bob Arum told SunSport the biggest fight in British boxing history could be a home fixture – if the boffins beat the virus in the first quarter of 2021.
Arum said: “We have a number of places contending to do that fight but no serious discussions have been made.
“Tyson Fury needs to win his fight on December 5 and much more difficult Joshua winning his fight on December 12.
“Let’s be optimistic, I really believe with the words on this vaccine coming down the pipe, let’s assume it’s being widely distributed by February, which I’m told is a good possibility, by May or June we’re not going to have to worry about coronavirus.

“We’ll be back to a normal time. We can’t run our lives thinking coronavirus will be with us forever.
“There will be a time with the vaccine that we can conquer it and I’m optimistic that will happen in the first quarter of next year.
“The promoters, whether it’s Eddie and Joshua or myself, Frank and Tyson, we’re going to put the fight on where it makes the most sense economically wise.”
Fury, 32, fancies the all-English double more than ever, after finding a newfound respect for AJ.

Deontay Wilder’s embarrassing excuses and scandalous accusations, in the wake of his February whooping, have turned Fury right off and reminded him of how well Joshua handled his 2019 loss to Andy Ruiz Jr.
The WBC king said: “If we both come through our December fights then I hope this fight finally gets made when we are both heavyweight world champions – at the top of our careers – and I hope it can happen twice next year.
“Me and AJ are rivals, we have been for a long time, but he handled his defeat to Andy Ruiz like a man , he took it in his stride, he didn’t make a single excuse.
“He said ‘well done, I will see you next time’ and if that happens to me then I hope I can react like that.
“If people are going into a fight with an injury they need to pull out or never mention it. AJ just said ‘I got beat by the better man on the night’ and that was class.”

Tyson Fury to fight Kabeyel on December 5 with Wilder’s chances of trilogy same as ‘Donald Trump changing election’

TYSON FURY is hoping to announce his next fight against Agit Kabeyel on December 5 this week, revealed Bob Arum.
And Deontay Wilder chances of preventing that to receive a trilogy bout are the same as ‘Donald Trump’s in changing the election’.

With Fury deciding cancel their immediate rematch, he is closing in on a UK homecoming, with 20-0 Kabeyel his chosen opponent.
It acts as a tune up for a proposed undisputed title fight with Anthony Joshua who faces Arum’s other heavyweight Kubrat Pulev a week later.
The legendary promoter told SunSport: “It’s my understanding Tyson will defend his title against Agit Kabayel.
“Frank (Warren) will make the announcement hopefully this week.

“It will be shown in the United States on ESPN+ streaming platform on a Saturday which now has 12million subscribers.
“I’m enthused about that and then the plan is, if Tyson wins and Joshua beats Pulev – which is not an easy fight – then we’ll match them sometime in the first six months of next year.
“It will be by far the biggest fight in the history of British boxing.”
Fury, 32, was contracted to a third fight with Wilder, 35, as part of the deal they signed earlier this year.

But with the coronavirus pandemic keeping paying fans away, it also did the same for the Bronze Bomber’s crack at revenge.
After the rematch clause expired, Fury instead walked away from their rivalry to focus on facing Joshua, 31, in a double header next year.
Wilder responded furiously and demanded their trilogy be honoured, and has even initiated a mediation to review his case.
But Arum is not sweating over the dispute, giving the American as much chance as Trump does in overturning his Presidential defeat by Joe Biden.
He said: “Wilder has done that but his chances are the same as Donald Trump’s in changing the election.”

Dillian Whyte accuses Alexander Povetkin of FAKING coronavirus hell to delay rematch as he ‘took a lot of damage’

DILLIAN WHYTE has claimed that Alexander Povetkin did not have coronavirus after their heavyweight rematch was delayed.
The Russian dramatically downed Whyte in August with a stunning uppercut KO.

But any hopes of a 2020 rematch between the pair were ended when Povetkin, 41, was admitted to hospital in early November.
Released this week, the heavyweight’s illness has been called into question by Whyte – who reckons he was simply recovering from the ‘damage’ of their first contest.
The Brit told Sky Sports: “I personally don’t think he’s got Covid.
“I think he just needed more time to get ready, because he took a lot of damage in the first fight.

“After the first fight, he took a lot of time off.
“Even though I got stopped, I went straight back to training and I got straight back on it.”
Whyte, 32, had won his previous 11 fights before the defeat to Povektin.
Ahead of the rematch, he has insisted he is happy to ‘keep improving’ in the training ring.

Povetkin’s promoter Andrey Ryabinskiy hit back at Whyte’s comments and stated that he is willing to release official medical documents proving his man’s infection.
He asserted: “There are so many different opinions. Let’s not listen to opinions, but be guided by facts and make decisions.
“The facts are simple – [Alexander] got coronavirus, and we were forced to postpone the fight. This can happen to any athlete.
“He was in the hospital, we have all the documents at hand. If Eddie Hearn has any question of this kind, I am ready to submit all these documents.
“Obviously, it is more profitable for us to have a rematch with Whyte after his defeat as soon as possible.”
Ryabinskiy has confirmed that Povetkin is being treated at home and may take a while to fully recover from coronavirus.
He added: “He had a rather difficult form of coronavirus, but he passed this crisis period, the doctors put him back on his feet.
“He is now feeling well, no complications have been identified.

“At the moment, his main task is to restore health and return to the necessary physical shape.”
Whyte’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has told the heavyweight to remain calm in the face of the delay – unless Tyson Fury comes calling.
A preliminary date of January 30 has been set for the rematch although Povetkin’s camp are as yet unwilling to rubberstamp the schedule.
Hearn told reporters last week: “I said to Dillian, ‘Unless we get asked to fight Tyson Fury, you’ve just got to wait until January 30’.”

Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr: UK start time, date, TV channel, live stream, undercard, rules as legends do battle

BOXING icons Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr will do battle in a spectacular exhibition fight.
The 54-year-old Tyson will face Jones, 51, in a long-awaited bout, with the Baddest Man on the Planet dropping an incredible SIX stone to get in shape.

How Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr match up

The California State Commission say the exhibition bout will be fought under the rules that both men will not look for the knock-out and will instead “exhibit” their skills, but both fighters have come out and said the contrary.
When is Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr?
The big fight is now set for Thanksgiving Weekend – Saturday, November 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
It was originally set to take place on September 12 but the event has been postponed until later in the year.
The undercard is expected to start at 9pm ET which is 1am GMT and the main event will follow between 4am and 5am GMT.
The legends are set to eight rounds in the ring, with Youtube star Jake Paul and NBA star Nate Robinson confirmed for the undercard.

What live stream and TV channel is Tyson vs Jones Jr on?
BT Sport Box Office will be broadcasting the fight in the UK.
Coverage begins at 8pm ET, which is midnight in UK. The undercard is set to start from 1am GMT.
The social media site Triller will also be airing the PPV fight.
Emmy-winner Mario Lopez hosts the show, and musical acts will be announced for performances too.
Who is on the Tyson vs Jones Jr undercard?
YouTuber Jake Paul leads the way on the four-fight card when he takes on ex-NBA star Nate Robinson.
Elsewhere KSI’s trainer Viddal Riley is also in action as is former super-middleweight champion Badou Jack.
    Tyson vs Jones Jr
    Badou Jack vs Blake McKernan
    Jake Paul vs Nate Robinson
    Viddal Riley vs Rashad Coulter

What are the rules of the fight?
The fight will be contested over eight, two-minute rounds.

No headguards will be worn but the fighters will be wearing larger 12-ounce gloves.
Technically the fight can only be stopped if there is a knock-out, but California State Athletic Commission executive director Andy Forster said he will stop it as soon as a cut appears.
Forster said: “Tyson and Jones Jr. won’t be wearing headgear for the fight. They’ll be lacing up 12-ounce gloves and there won’t be any judges present at the fight to score the action. So, technically, there won’t be a winner unless a knockout somehow occurs, or either fighter is deemed unfit to continue.
“They can move around and make some money, but I told them if you get cut, it’s over.”

Roy Jones Jr, 51, last fought only two years ago
    What have they said?
Mike Tyson: “We’re throwing punches at each other. This is going to be my definition of fun … broken eye sockets, broken jaw, broken rib. That’s fun to me.”
Roy Jones Jr: “He’s still Mike Tyson, he’s still one of the strongest, most explosive people who ever touched a boxing ring. If anything, I made a mistake going in with him. He’s the bigger guy, he’s the explosive guy. He’s going to have all the first-round fireworks, not me. I do have first-round fireworks, but he’s known for more first-round fireworks than anybody to ever touch boxing, other than maybe George Foreman.” More

Mike Tyson tells Deontay Wilder to get his ‘head out of his butt’ and to stop making excuses for Tyson Fury defeat

MIKE TYSON has urged Deontay Wilder to get his ‘head out of his butt’ and stop making excuses for losing to Tyson Fury.
Wilder was emphatically dethroned of the WBC belt by Fury in February, and later gave several reasons to desperately explain the result.

Iron Mike told Wilder to stop feeling sorry for himself

But Iron Mike told the beaten heavyweight to stop feeling sorry for himself and let his fists do the talking in an attempt to revive his career.
Tyson, 54, told ESPN: “When Wilder gets his head out of his butt, he’s good. Wilder’s just gotta stop internalising stuff, this guy is great.
“Just keep on fighting. Fight [Fury] again – fight him a third time. Whenever you have an opportunity to fight for the title, he should fight.
“We can only do this for a certain amount of time in our life, and then we can’t do it anymore.

“So we have to do it as much as we can before we end this stuff.”
Right after Wilder’s comprehensive seven round stoppage, the American blamed the defeat on the 45lb costume he wore on his ring walk.
The 35-year-old then revealed that he needed bicep surgery following an injury.
Fury was also forced to deny ‘bulls***’ claims made by Wilder’s brother Marsellos, who accused the Gypsy King of having a ‘blunt object’ in his gloves.

Then, as Wilder recently broke a long period of silence following his first ever loss, he himself came up with the same elaborate theory.
He accused Fury of ‘cheating’ by having ‘something hard’ in his glove.
That is despite a member of his team and the athletic commission observing Fury having his hands wrapped and gloves fitted before both fights.
Wilder followed it up by later claiming his ‘water was spiked’ which left him with ‘no control’ over his body.
The litany of excuses and accusations were all made with absolutely no evidence provided.
And it leaves Wilder’s reputation in tatters, made worse by the fact Fury, 32, has ditched their trilogy fight.
They were contracted to a third fight as part of the original deal they signed for the February rematch.
But as fans were kept away amid the coronavirus, so was the Bronze Bomber’s chance for revenge.

    Mike Tyson on Deontay Widler

As a result, the immediate rematch clause expired with Fury instead now set to make his UK homecoming on December 5 against 28-year-old Agit Kabayel.
The fight will act as a tune up for a potential Battle of Britain with Anthony Joshua, 31, who faces Kubrat Pulev, 39, a week after.
Should the heavyweight stars prevail, it sets up a historic undisputed title decider for all four belts.
But Iron Mike Tyson, set to come out of retirement this month against Roy Jones Jr, 51, feels AJ still has a left to learn as champion.
He said: “That guy could learn some more. He could be taught some more stuff.
    “I don’t think he’s a paper champion, I just think he’s a big guy.
“It’s hard to fight being that big; it’s very difficult being that big and having to fight a smaller guy.”

As the reasons and accusations escalated to farcical levels, the Gypsy King revealed he feared for his rival’s wellbeing and offered his support.
But Wilder appears uninterested in the proposal, instead wanting only another fight from Fury.
He tweeted: “Hey @Tyson_Fury , Don’t worry about me I am Fine, Blessed.
“The only thing I want from you is for you to honor your agreement and fight me. I gave you 2 shots when I didn’t have to and it changed your life.

“Now it is time for you to be a man and give me my shot as you agreed to.”

Fury, 32, and Wilder, 35, were contracted to a third fight as part of the original deal they signed following their rematch.
But as fans were kept away amid the coronavirus, so was the Bronze Bomber’s chance for revenge.

The fight will act as a tune up for a potential undisputed title decider with Anthony Joshua, 31, who faces Kubrat Pulev, 39, a week after.
Wilder, left frozen out, reacted furiously and uploaded a video online calling for a trilogy with Fury to be agreed.
But his case was hugely hampered after he accused the Gypsy King of ‘cheating’ by loading ‘something hard’ in his glove for both their bouts.
That is despite a member of his team and the athletic commission observing Fury having his hands wrapped and gloves fitted before both fights.
Wilder followed it up by later claiming his ‘water was spiked’ which left him with ‘no control’ over his body throughout his seven round beating.

And despite appearing deluded by his first ever defeat, Wilder refuses to give up on forcing through a trilogy having now initiated a dispute resolution clause in his contract.
According to The Athletic, the American is attempting to enforce a third meeting inside the ring through mediation.
It has been reported that a retired judge will act as mediator where he will review the contracts that were signed for their February 22 fight.
Wilder’s co-manager Shelly Finkel told the news outlet: “We’re going into it very optimistically this week.”
