With things going well off the pitch, supporters have also been boosted by this latest news off it.

Kroenke, 75, bought 9.9 per cent shares in Arsenal 16 years ago, before purchasing the club outright for £731million in 2011.

Supporters previously protested against the American’s ownership, campaigning for “Kroenke Out” with marches and banners.

But those protests have largely disappeared since Mikel Arteta’s side started winning.

The Gunners have spent £320m on transfers across the last two seasons.

Last summer they recruited Manchester City duo Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko – as well as Fabio Vieira, Jakub Kiwior Matt Turner and Marquinhos – and Leandro Trossard and Jorginho in January.
