  • THAT’S ALL FOR TONIGHT!

Wolves have beaten Arsenal 2-1 at Molineux thanks to goals from Ruben Neves (from the spot) and Joao Mountinho’s wonder goal either side of Pepe’s opener for Arsenal.

The Gunners were reduced to nine men after David Luiz was sent off in the incident that led to Wolves’ penalty and Bernd Leno was dismissed for handling the ball outside of the area.

The win was Wolves’ first in the league for nine games and halted Arsenal’s seven game unbeaten run.

  • MORE FROM NUNO

“All the achievements are good but we did many beautiful things in the past seasons and we want to emulate them again. This will require hard work from the players and they are determined.

“Today we approached the game very, very convinced of what we had to do. It’s not what happened in the game, what happened before was very important.

“The players challenged themselves to raise themselves and their standards. They are very good players and in the past have given very beautiful things to us. The standards are very high and we have to chase that.

“We cannot allow ourselves to ever put our heads down. It’s a very tough moment for us. I will not allow our players to stop believing in themselves.”

  • MORE REACTION FROM ARTETA

(On the referee’s decision) “If there is any contact it’s him with David. I don’t know if they have a different angle to what they have or you have.

“Those big decisions are like that but it’s nothing I can change at the moment. It was a big decision and they can justify if they got it right then I put my hands up and apologise.

“The only thing I’m saying is I’m sitting here and I cannot see any contact and it’s really frustrating because it’s a big moment in the game.”

  • REACTION FROM NUNO

(on beating Arsenal) “It’s very welcome. It means a lot, of course. We’ve been in a tough moment, so it’s important. The game was very difficult. Arsenal play very good football. Everything changes with the penalty. It was important.”

(on Joao Moutinho’s goal) “That goal was amazing. I’m very pleased. The only thing we can be sad about is that the South Bank was not behind it. That would have been magical. Joao is such a talented player and deserves this moment.

  • REACTION FROM ARTETA

(on Leno’s red card) “I imagine he makes the decision in a split of a second and naturally he tries to stop the ball, there’s nothing he can do.”

(on Luiz’s red card) “I’ve just seen the replay ten times in five different angles and I cannot see any contact.”

(on whether he’ll appeal Luiz red card) “If I’m sitting here now I would say yes. We have to speak with legal at the club and see what the best thing is to do.”

“The way we lost the game really hurts, it’s painful.”

(on the second half) “We were really animated at half time because we really wanted to win the game. We didn’t concede any chances but Moutinho scored a worldie.”
