Man City ‘made Harry Kane transfer inquiry in January’ and Tottenham ‘would sell to them before Man Utd or Chelsea’

MANCHESTER CITY have reportedly already made an enquiry for Harry Kane – way back in January.

The 27-year-old striker wants to leave Tottenham this summer after another disappointing campaign for the North London side.

City are leading the race to sign the striker, and the Etihad is believed to be Kane’s preferred destination.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also in the chase for the England superstar.

However, the Daily Star has now claimed Pep Guardiola’s side contacted Spurs back in the winter transfer window over a potential move.

They were told to forget about it – but it looks as if that enquiry set the wheels in motion for him to go public with his desire to depart.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is still fighting to keep his talisman.

Kane still has three years left on a £230,000-a-week contract and the club have slapped a £150m price tag on his head.

The forward has scored 32 goals in all competitions this term and could line-up for Spurs for the final time this afternoon.

And he will be hoping to add to his tally and claim the Premier League Golden Boot away to Leicester.

Kane is then desperate to get his future resolved before he joins up with the Three Lions for Euro 2020.

But it remains to be seen whether Levy will listen to offers for his talisman – even if the ace is ‘hellbent’ on going to City.

However, it is also claimed Levy would rather do business with the Etihad side rather than London rivals Chelsea or United.

Spurs have lost several big names, including Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Carrick, to the Red Devils.

And Levy is allegedly determined not to let another top talent leave for Old Trafford.
