Real Madrid plan stunning double transfer for Erling Haaland AND Kylian Mbappe over next two summer windows

Zinedine Zidane is desperate to revamp his attack after failing to replace Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo at the Bernabeu.

The Frenchman’s current frontman Karim Benzema will be 33 this year and Madrid are on the hunt for his successor.

Luka Jovic is already rumoured to be on his way out of the club after failing to impress this season following his £62m move from Benfica last year.

Haaland has enjoyed an incredible breakout season in Europe, scoring 12 goals in his first 11 games at Dortmund following his switch from Red Bull Salzburg.

And the Norwegian could be on the move again as early as this summer, with Madrid primed to activate his £66m release clause.

Dortmund expect to keep hold of Haaland for at least another season with Manchester United also keen on the 19-year-old, having missed out on him in January.

I know from club sources that a deal to take Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid was almost done.

Former PSG star Jerome Rothen

Meanwhile. Zidane remains keen on acquiring French compatriot Mbappe in the summer of 2021 when the forward enters the final year of his PSG contract.

The former Monaco ace was said to have been on the verge of signing for Madrid before the coronavirus outbreak.

Ex-Parc des Princes star Jerome Rothen told Radio Monte Carlo: “I know from club sources that a deal to take Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid was almost done.

“But with what has been happening, I’m sure that Mbappe’s arrival at Real Madrid will be postponed.

“There is no way that Mbappe will extend his contract with PSG.

“They will have an agreement between them in place because PSG agreed to let him go this summer.

“In my opinion, it’s just a question of time.”

Mbappe had scored 30 goals in all competitions this campaign before the season was suspended.

Discussing his admiration for the forward previously, Madrid boss Zidane said: “You know that I have known him for a long time.

“I am already in love with him, firstly as a person, because he came to do a trial here a long time ago.”
