Liverpool players host raucous title-winning party as Van Dijk, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Co celebrate Willian goal

LIVERPOOL players have been filmed hosting a raucous title-winning party in someone’s back garden.

Willian’s penalty sent Man City to a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea and ensured the Reds won their first title in 30 years.

As players, including Virgil van Dijk and Alisson, can be seen jumping and celebrating the goal, Ox shouts into the camera: “Come on!”

Andrew Robertson and Joel Matip can also be seen in the first brief clip.

A second video, which included Adam Lallana, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, showed the players counting down to the full-time whistle.

They then erupt into cheers at full-time and can be heard chanting: “Campiones! Campiones! Ole, Ole Ole!”

BT Sport interviewed an emotional Jurgen Klopp after Chelsea won.

The German said: “It is unbelievable. It’s much more than I ever thought would be possible. Knowing how much Kenny supported us, it is for you. He has waited 30 years and it’s for Stevie [Gerrard]. The boys admire you all and it’s easy to motivate the team because of our great history.

“It was really tense for 100 minutes of the City game, I didn’t really want to be involved but you are when you watch it. It’s an incredible achievement by my players and it’s a huge joy for me to coach them. I haven’t waited 30 years, I have been here for four and a half years, but it is quite an achievement, especially with the three month break because nobody knew if we could go on.

“The game last night gave me the feeling we would be fine and tonight is for the fans. I hope you stay at home, and it’s a joy to do it for you. It [the pandemic] is not over yet and we watched the game together at the hotel so we will enjoy the moment.

“I know it is difficult for people in this moment but we could not hold back. We will enjoy this with our supporters when we can.”

Writing on Instagram, former captain and club legend Steven Gerrard said: “Congratulations to all [Liverpool FC] on winning the Premier League.

“Incredible achievement from a fantastic squad of top players.

“Lead by a world class manager and coaching team, also a special mention for the backing from FSG.

“And lastly and most importantly the fans who have waited 30 years. Let the party begin.”
