Mike Tyson vs Tyson Fury offer CONFIRMED by Frank Warren as Gypsy King promoter hits out at ‘idiots’ who want fight

FRANK WARREN has confirmed heavyweight champ Tyson Fury has received an offer to fight Mike Tyson.

However, the boxing promoter has reiterated that he believes it is a bad idea for “Iron Mike” to climb back into the ring.

The boxing legend has recently been whipping fans into frenzy with numerous clips showing his stunning physique and training.

Despite turning 54 later this month, the former heavyweight champion is planning a comeback into the ring.

A trilogy fight with long-term rival Evander Holyfield or an exhibition clash with Shannon Briggs have both been speculated.

And Fury also revealed last month he had said yes to an offer to take on his hero in a charity bout.

But Warren, who co-promotes Fury with Top Rank boss Bob Arum, insists he will not play any part in promoting a potential dream match.

Speaking to Metro, he said: “The offer Tyson has was given to him.

“There has been talk about Mike Tyson doing an exhibition with Tyson Fury. There has been a conversation, but not with me. To be quite honest, it’s not something I’m interested in.”

Tyson’s last appearance inbetween the ropes was in 2005 when he lost to Kevin McBride.

Warren knows Tyson well after working with the icon throughout his rollercoaster career, and he is worried how his return could reflect on boxing.

He said: “Mike is old. He’s not any better than when Danny Williams and Kevin McBride beat him. I’m totally against it all to be honest.

“Mike fighting Evander Holyfield or Roy Jones Jr or Tyson Fury. It’s wrong.

“They’re not past their sell by dates, those sell by dates have disintegrated. They shouldn’t be doing it and people shouldn’t be encouraging it. If anything goes wrong, it comes back on boxing.

“There will be some idiots who pay to watch this. If the two Tysons were to have an exhibition to raise money for charity, then that’s okay – as long as it’s choreographed.

“I haven’t got a problem with that. But anything else is crazy.”
