Man Utd transfer boost as RB Salzburg deny RB Leipzig can buy Erling Haaland on the cheap

RB SALZBURG have confirmed there is NO clause which would force them to sell Manchester United target Erling Haaland to sister club RB Leipzig on the cheap.

Norway international Haaland has scored an incredible 27 goals in just 19 games this season.

And United are said to be considering a January swoop following their own shortcomings up front.

Old Trafford legend Gary Neville criticised Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attacking options after Sunday’s 3-3 draw at Sheffield United.

And reports claim the Red Devils are lining up a £60million bid to bring Haaland to the Premier League in January.

However, there were fears the move could be hijacked by German side RB Leipzig.

Like Haaland’s club Salzburg, they are also owned by Red Bull and have a history of poaching the Austrian side’s top talents, with Dayot Upamecano and Amadou Haidara signed in recent years.

It was reckoned there was a clause for Leipzig to sign Haaland for just £27.5m, despite his valuation of around £85m.

But Salzburg chief Christoph Freund insists this is not the case.

He told Kicker: “There is no such clause, that is not an issue for us.

“We would never give any club a right of advance to any player.

“That was not the case in the past and will not be the case in the future.”

Haaland has remained tight-lipped on speculation since the start of the season.

However, he did brand the transfer rumours “f***ing boring” when asked about his future in January.

Haaland said: “The media attention is huge. It’s good pressure.

“The club is good at shielding me a little but I hope it will be more shielding in the future.

“It will be difficult, but we will try. I want to be shielded.

“It’s f***ing boring. I’m bored now. How bored on a scale of 1 to 10? 9.9.”
