Chelsea fans fume at Emerson as left-back allows Riyad Mahrez to skin him for Manchester City goal

And supporters think Emerson, 25, could be one of the first to be replaced after he was beaten all ends up by Riyad Mahrez for City’s second.

One fan tweeted: “Emerson definitely not very good, sadly this was obvious anyway, hopefully we can buy someone at the top level”.

And another added: “Oh dear Mahrez rinsed Emerson & Kova there Chelsea not taking those early chances hmmm”.

It was not just Emerson’s defending which came under fire as a fuming Blue quipped: “Hey @OptaJoe, could you confirm if Emerson made any forward pass in that first half”.

And others pointed out that Marcos Alonso is often given a far rougher ride than the Italian.

A fan tweeted: “If it was Alonso where Emerson was for the Mahrez goal Chelsea fans: He’s useless, he cannot mark, his slow, he’s weak, his father cheated on his mother and that’s why he’s a b*****d.”

N’Golo Kante got the opener in today’s late kick-off but Kevin De Bruyne and Mahrez struck back to give their side a 2-1 half-time lead.

But they are appealing the decision by Fifa and will find out in mid-December whether they can look to sign a striker in the January window.

And Lampard could make CSKA Moscow striker Fedor Chalov his first January signing if their ban is lifted after being linked with the Russian ace.
